PA6HQ actief tijdens de IARU Championshipcontest 2018
PA6HQ is een speciale call verleend aan PI4HQ, het verenigingsstation van het Traffic Buro van de VERON. Met deze call vertegenwoordigt een groep van Nederlandse contesters de VERON tijdens de jaarlijkse IARU HF Championship Contest. Aangezien deze contest voor Nederland altijd midden in het vakantieseizoen valt, is het de laatste jaren niet eenvoudig om voldoende locaties te vinden om twaalf signalen gelijktijdig te activeren. Een zogenaamd HQ-station mag volgens de reglementen namelijk gelijktijdig uitzenden in zowel CW als SSB op iedere band binnen de landsgrenzen. Het Agentschap Telecom geeft hier dan ook een speciale toestemming voor aan het Traffic Buro van de VERON. Dit jaar was niet alleen de zomervakantie een uitdaging, ook de WRTC 2018, wat bij onze oosterburen werd georganiseerd, zorgde ervoor dat een aantal bekende Nederlandse conteststations niet beschikbaar waren. Na een best moeizame planning was dit het plan waarmee PA6HQ actief ging worden:

PA6HQ will be active during the IARU Championship contest 2018
PA6HQ is a special call granted to PI4HQ, the clubstation of the Traffic Buro of the National Society VERON. With this call a group of Dutch contesters represents the VERON during the annual IARU HF Championship Contest. Since this contest for the Netherlands always falls in the middle of the holiday season it has not been easy in recent years to find enough locations to activate twelve signals simultaneously. A so-called HQ station may, according to the regulations, transmit simultaneously in both CW and SSB on every band within the country’s borders. The National Radiocommunications Agency also issues a special permission to the Traffic Buro of the VERON allowing one callsign from different locations. This year it was not only the summer vacation which made planning a challenge, the WRTC 2018, organized by our eastern neighbors, made that a number of known Dutch contest stations were not available. After a rather difficult period of planning and scheduling, this was the plan with which PA6HQ became active:
De actieve amateurs zullen zich herinneren dat de periode in de aanloop naar de contest nu niet de boeken in zullen gaan als die met de geweldige propagatie op alle banden. Alles vanaf 20m was weken slecht en alleen dankzij wat ‘sporadische E’ was er activiteit. Gelukkig viel dit in het contestweekend zelf mee en werden er op alle banden, misschien met uitzondering van 10m, best goede resultaten behaald. Dit is het uiteindelijke resultaat:
The active amateurs will remember that the period in the run-up to the contest will not go into the books as a period with great propagation on all bands. Everything from 20m up was bad for weeks prior to the contest and only because of what ‘sporadic E’ there was activity. Fortunately, this happened in the contest weekend itself and on all bands, perhaps with exception of 10m, achieved good results. This is the final result:
Er is dus een heel mooi resultaat neergezet, zeker gezien de omstandigheden.
